LOS ANGELES, June 13, 2016<\/b> \u2013 At its annual E3 press conference today, Sony Interactive Entertainment America LLC (SIEA) debuted a line-up of premier content for PlayStation\u00ae4 (PS4\u2122), including Days Gone<\/i> (SIE Bend Studio), Spider-Man <\/i>(Insomniac Games), LEGO\u00ae Star Wars\u2122: The Force Awakens\u2122<\/i> (TT Games and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment), God of War <\/i>(SIE Santa Monica Studio), DEATH STRANDING<\/i> (Kojima Productions), FINAL FANTASY\u00ae XV<\/i> (Square Enix), RESIDENT EVIL\u00ae 7 biohazard<\/i> (Capcom Co.), and many more.<\/p>\n

SIEA also announced the North American launch date of October for PlayStation\u00aeVR (PS VR), a virtual reality system that takes PS4 to the next level of immersion. Along with the launch date announcement, SIEA unveiled a breadth of unique PS VR experiences, including Farpoint<\/i> (Impulse Gear), Star Wars\u2122 Battlefront\u2122: X-Wing VR Mission<\/i> (Electronic Arts), and Batman<\/i>\u2122: Arkham VR<\/i> (RockSteady and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment).<\/p>\n

\u201cPlayStation\u2019s heritage has been built around innovation and ground-breaking gaming experiences, and today\u2019s reveals of new PS4 and PS VR content speaks to our continued commitment to this evolution of gaming,\u201d said Shawn Layden, President of SIEA and Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios.  \u201cFrom the reimagining of God of War<\/i> to the brand new world of Days Gone<\/i>, this E3 marks one of the best content line-ups in PlayStation history.  With the launch of PS VR on the horizon, innovation also has never been stronger at PlayStation, as developers, from smaller independent teams to larger studios, have been able to quickly leverage the technology and create unique experiences that truly embody VR\u2019s potential.\u201d<\/p>\n

PlayStation\u00ae4<\/h3>\n

PS4 continues to remain the fastest-selling console in PlayStation\u00ae<\/i> history with more than 40 million units sold worldwide, and new game announcements revealed on stage at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles demonstrated how PS4\u2019s library will further expand with an unparalleled line-up of games. SIE\u2019s Worldwide Studios (SIE WWS) unveiled three new ambitious games during the show — God of War<\/i>, Spider-Man<\/i> and Days Gone<\/i>.  Developed by Santa Monica Studio, God of War<\/i> opened the show with a reveal showcasing a refreshed gameplay experience that continues the next chapter for iconic character, Kratos.  As part of the reveal, renowned musical artist Bear McCreary, composer for God of War<\/i>, shared his score for the game while conducting an incredible live orchestra.<\/p>\n

The debut of Spider-Man<\/i> for PS4 introduced players for the first time to an authentic new Spider-Man story and universe being developed through a close collaboration between Insomniac Games, Marvel and San Mateo Studio.  Additionally, Days Gone<\/i> marks the long-awaited return of Bend Studio, who debuted a trailer highlighting a story about loss and regret set in a stunningly realistic high-desert of the Pacific Northwest, and closed the press conference with a live demonstration of emergent, open-world gameplay.<\/p>\n

Other featured titles from SIE WWS included highly-anticipated titles Horizon Zero Dawn<\/i>, Detroit: Become Human<\/i>, and The Last Guardian<\/i>. SIEA also announced that The Last Guardian<\/i> will launch on October 25, 2016.  Also, in partnership with SIE, celebrated game creator Hideo Kojima took to the stage to announce his new PS4 exclusive title, DEATH STRANDING<\/i>. DEATH STRANDING<\/i> will be produced, written, directed and designed by Hideo Kojima himself, and will star actor Norman Reedus.<\/p>\n

In addition to the wealth of content coming from SIE\u2019s WWS, partnerships with the industry\u2019s leading developers and publishers will further solidify PS4 as the best place to play for gamers.  At the press conference, SIEA announced it has worked with Activision to bring back one of PlayStation\u2019s fan favorite characters, Crash Bandicoot.  Coming to PS4 first this October, Crash appears in Skylanders\u00ae Imaginators<\/i>, the latest game from one of the most beloved franchises.  Additionally, in 2017, fans can play Crash 1<\/i>, Crash 2<\/i>, and Crash Warped<\/i>, fully remastered for PS4 by Activision and Vicarious Visions. SIE will also continue its partnership with Activision on Call of Duty\u00ae: Infinite Warfare<\/i>, ensuring once again that PlayStation is home to one of the world\u2019s biggest franchises.  PlayStation 4 gamers will be the first to play all downloadable map packs from Infinite Warfare<\/i>, and those who pre-purchase select editions of the game for PS4 will be the first to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered\u2019s<\/i> campaign 30 days prior to launch on November 4*1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Additional featured partner titles shown during the conference include LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens<\/i>, RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard<\/i>, and FINAL FANTASY XV<\/i>.  PS4 owners will be the first to play the demo for the highly-anticipated LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens<\/i>, and the demo for RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard<\/i> will be made available first to PlayStation\u00aePlus members.  Additionally, it was announced that RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard<\/i> will be fully compatible with PS VR.<\/p>\n

PlayStation\u00aeVR<\/h3>\n

When PS VR launches on October 13, 2016 in North America, it brings with it the opportunity for virtual reality to reach the mainstream, as all 40 million PS4s in gamers\u2019 homes are PS VR-capable.*2<\/sup>  From some of the biggest franchises in gaming to brand new titles created exclusively for PS VR, a wide breadth of unique experiences will await gamers when PS VR launches.  During the conference, SIEA unveiled new PS VR experiences, including Farpoint,<\/i> Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission<\/i>, and Batman<\/i>: Arkham VR<\/i>.  From developer Impulse Gear and SIE\u2019s San Mateo Studio comes Farpoint<\/i>, an unnerving VR space adventure that will set a new standard for immersive VR.<\/p>\n

Batman: Arkham VR<\/i> is from the critically-acclaimed Rocksteady Studios and is the first virtual reality Batman experience that will allow fans to experience Gotham City through the eyes of the World\u2019s Greatest Detective in an all new Arkham mystery.<\/p>\n

Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission<\/i> will immerse players in one of the most dreamt about Star Wars\u2122<\/i> fantasies \u2013 piloting an X-wing in the far reaches of space. This all-new mission will be exclusive to PS VR this holiday, and is free*3<\/sup> for owners of Star Wars<\/i> Battlefront<\/i>. *3<\/sup> <\/p>\n

PlayStation VR titles will range from $9.99 to $59.99.  Additionally, PlayStation Move controllers will be available as a two-pack bundle for $99.99 (MSRP).<\/p>\n
