Tokyo, June 24, 2002<\/strong> \u2013 Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) announced today that it would launch D-terminal AV Cable with Audio Plugs for PlayStation\u00ae2 (D-terminal cable) on July 25th, 2002 for the suggested retail price of JPY 2,500 (excluding tax).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This D-terminal cable (*) allows users to enjoy even sharper images than those given by using the existing AV cable (integrated Audio\/Visual) and S VIDEO cable. It uses high-purity 99.98% OFC (Oxygen Free High Conductivity Copper) as wire rod, which enables transmission of high definition images. Also, all terminal interfaces adopt highly durable rustproof 24K gold plated plug with low contact resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With PlayStation and PlayStation 2, Sony Computer Entertainment will create and develop a new world of computer entertainment for the broadband era through the fusion of game, music, movies, and broadcasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(*) This cable can be used on TV equipped with D-terminal input (D1-D5) compatible with output signals of PlayStation 2 and software used on PlayStation 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
