New Accessories for PlayStation®Portable to Become Available in Japan
Tokyo, May 9, 2005 – Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ), a division of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) responsible for business operations in Japan, announced today that it would release two new accessories, Car Adaptor (PSP-180) and Accessory Pouch and Cloth (PSP-220), for PlayStation®Portable on Thursday, June 9th.
Since its launch in Japan on December 2004, PlayStation Portable has gained strong support from a broad range of users, achieving cumulative shipments of 1.44 million units as of end of March this year. A wide variety of content including game, music and movies are already made available and more and more attractive software are expected to be released continuously, expanding the world of entertainment on PlayStation Portable.
As a new item that will enhance the use of PlayStation Portable, SCEJ will release Car Adaptor, which connects to the cigarette lighter socket for power supply and Accessory Pouch and Cloth, which enables users to carry around their UMD® (Universal Media Disc) and Headphone with remote control, conveniently. In addition to PlayStation® and PlayStation®2, SCEJ will continue to release products that will enhance the enjoyment of PlayStation Portable and will further expand and promote the world of entertainment.
